Kendrick Lamar and Lady Gaga Lead Nominees

Kendrick Lamar continues to shine at this year's awards, leading the nominations with an impressive nine nods for the 68th annual ceremony. This marks the second consecutive year he has topped the nominees, following his sweep of five categories last year. His critically acclaimed fifth studio album, “GNX,” has secured a nomination for Album of the Year, while the standout single, “Luther,” a duet with SZA, is nominated for both Record of the Year and Song of the Year.
Not far behind is Lady Gaga, whose seventh studio album, “MAYHEM,” has also made a significant impact. It earns nominations for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album, while her hit singles “Abracadabra” and “Disease” received nominations for Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance, respectively. “Die With A Smile,” her collaboration with Bruno Mars, also gets nods for Song of the Year and Pop Duo/Group Performance. Additionally, her cinematic companion album, “Harlequin,” from JOKER 2: Folie a Deux, is nominated for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album, showcasing her versatility as a multi-genre artist. As the ceremony fast approaches, excitement builds around both artists and their contributions to modern music.

Who’s Nominated for Best New Artist?
Chappell Roan, last year’s breakout queen, announced this year’s nominees for the Best New Artist Award. The list features the soulful Olivia Dean, Katseye, the global girl group known for their vibrant energy, and indie-pop act The Marias. TikTok sensation Addison Rae has made a smooth transition to a pop princess, while rising artists sombr and Alex Warren introduce fresh perspectives to the nominees. R&B talent Leon Thomas also gets nominated, and powerhouse vocalist Lola Young completes the eight vying for the award this year.

Bad Bunny Achieves Historic 'Big Four' Nomination Milestone

Bad Bunny has made history at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards with six nominations, becoming the first Spanish-language artist to receive three nods in the top "Big Four" categories—Album of the Year, Record of the Year, and Song of the Year—all in one year. His album "Debí Tirar Más Fotos" is nominated for Album of the Year, while his song "DtMF" is in the running for both Record of the Year and Song of the Year. He also earned a nomination for Best Música Urbana Album, showcasing the rising influence of Spanish-language music globally and Bad Bunny’s key role in the international music scene.
Lorde, The Weeknd, and Benson Boone Absent

Despite strong commercial performance and critical acclaim within the eligibility window, several major artists failed to secure nominations. Most notably, global superstar The Weeknd, whose latest album Hurry Up Tomorrow was a significant submission, received zero nominations, furthering an ongoing, high-profile disconnect with the Recording Academy. Similarly, pop favorite Lorde, following the release of her highly anticipated fourth studio album, Virgin, was surprisingly absent from key categories like Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album. Finally, breakout artist Benson Boone, who commanded the global charts with the monumental success of his single "Beautiful Things" and the album American Heart, did not translate that commercial triumph into nominations for the General Field, including Best New Artist or Record of the Year.
