Supermodel Anok Yai has publicly called out The Washington Post after the publication released a report that she says falsely implied she damaged her outfit and urinated on herself during the 2024 Met Gala.

The controversy erupted after the newspaper published a story examining the challenges celebrities face navigating elaborate red carpet fashion, particularly when it comes to basic needs like using the restroom. In the article, an anonymous seamstress described helping a model out of a heavily embellished outfit during the event. The model was later identified as Yai, sparking backlash online.

Yai quickly shut down the claims in a fiery Instagram response directed at both the publication and reporter Maura Judkis.

“I usually stay quiet and keep to myself but HOW DARE YOU misalign my character and imply that I ripped my outfit and peed on myself during the Met Gala of 2024!” the model wrote. “FACT CHECK NEXT TIME! ARE YOU CRAZY?!”

In a second post, Yai challenged the report even further, writing, “If you find any photos of my outfit ripped or urine dripping down my leg, send it to me.”

Following the backlash, the article was reportedly updated to remove Yai’s name. However, readers noted that the remaining description of a model wearing a crystal-covered sheer jumpsuit still appeared to closely match her look from the event.

Perry is scheduled to headline the opening ceremony in Los Angeles ahead of the United States’ first World Cup match against Paraguay on June 12. The performance will take place at SoFi Stadium and is expected to be one of the biggest music moments tied to the tournament’s launch in the U.S.

Meanwhile, LISA is among the international stars joining FIFA’s worldwide celebration events. Her involvement adds another major milestone to the K-pop star’s growing global solo career, which has continued to gain momentum beyond her work with BLACKPINK.

The tournament’s opening festivities will also feature performances from artists including Future, Tyla, Anitta, and J Balvin across host countries the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

FIFA has not yet revealed who will headline the World Cup Final Halftime Show at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on July 19, though anticipation is already building over which global acts could take the stage.

An official World Cup soundtrack is also in the works, with Shakira teasing a new collaboration with Burna Boy that blends reggaetón and Afrobeats ahead of the tournament.

The Pentagon releases new files on UFOs

The Pentagon has ignited fresh debate over extraterrestrial life after releasing a new batch of previously unseen UFO documents, including reports involving mysterious sightings on Earth and even claims connected to astronauts on the Moon.

The files, made public Friday following an order from President Donald Trump, contain decades of declassified material tied to unidentified aerial phenomena, commonly known as UFOs or UAPs. The newly uploaded records are now available through the US Department of Defense, with officials saying additional documents are still expected to be released.

Among the material are military reports, civilian accounts of strange encounters, and archived records tied to the Apollo space missions, fueling renewed fascination with the possibility of extraterrestrial activity.

Public interest in UFOs has surged in recent years, especially after the U.S. government began openly discussing unexplained aerial sightings. In 2022, Congress held its first UFO hearings in half a century, while defense officials pledged greater transparency surrounding unexplained phenomena.

Interest intensified earlier this year after former President Barack Obama sparked headlines with comments suggesting aliens were “real,” though he later clarified that he had seen no evidence of extraterrestrial life while in office.

Passengers disembark from hantavirus-hit cruise ship

MV Hondius, a cruise ship linked to a deadly hantavirus outbreak became the focus of an international health operation on Sunday as passengers were evacuated in the Canary Islands amid growing concerns over potential infections.

The vessel docked in Tenerife, where authorities coordinated a tightly controlled disembarkation process for dozens of travelers, including 18 passengers headed to the United States. Several countries arranged special flights to bring citizens home, while additional evacuations are expected to continue Monday.

Health officials said all passengers leaving the ship underwent medical screening before disembarking and showed no symptoms at the time. However, concerns escalated after one French passenger reportedly became ill while traveling home. French officials confirmed that all five evacuees on that flight will now undergo isolation protocols as a precaution.

The outbreak has already been linked to the deaths of three people since the cruise departed Argentina last month.

Hantavirus is a rare but potentially serious disease usually transmitted through exposure to rodent urine or droppings. While the situation has sparked alarm among travelers, global health officials have stressed that the virus poses a low risk to the wider public and spreads very differently from Covid-19.

Authorities continue to monitor passengers and crew as investigations into the outbreak remain ongoing, with health agencies working to prevent further cases while reassuring the public that the situation is being carefully managed.

  • Rebecca Black is poking fun at one of the internet’s most bizarre resurfaced moments after an old tweet from Jaafar Jackson suggested that Kanye West should take her Teen Choice Award. Reacting to the post years later, Black jokingly wrote, “the concept of k*nye taking my teen choice award surfboard and giving it to shane dawson.”

  • Ariana Grande has clarified that her upcoming project petal will not sound like Positions, while still showing love to the fan-favorite era. Responding to comparisons, Grande said, “No, but I love her!.. I just enjoy evolving.”
