K-pop star Jeon Somi is set to make her acting debut in the upcoming horror-thriller “Perfect Girl”. She will star alongside Arden Cho (“Kpop Demon Hunters”) and Adeline Rudolph (“Mortal Kombat II”).

Described as “Scream meets Black Swan,” the film follows a fictional K-pop super group whose debut preparations turn sinister as members are hunted one by one. Directed by Hong Won-ki (“Goedam”), “Perfect Girl” begins filming on October 27 in Asia and will feature original tracks blending music and film.

To accelerate development, JYP is recruiting talent across 17 fields, including music creation, 3D modeling, UX design, and large language models. Applications are open until September 30.

BigHit Addresses Jimin’s Dating Rumors

On August 31, BIGHIT MUSIC released an official statement addressing recent dating rumors between BTS’s Jimin and actress Song Da Eun. The speculation began after Song Da Eun posted a TikTok video on August 27 that appeared to show her waiting for Jimin in an elevator before greeting him.

In their statement, BIGHIT explained that they had previously refrained from commenting to respect both Jimin and Song Da Eun’s privacy. However, due to the rise of speculative reports and unfounded rumors, the company felt compelled to clarify. According to BIGHIT, Jimin and Song Da Eun were once acquainted and shared mutual affection, but that was several years ago. They are not currently in a relationship.

The agency also urged fans and media to refrain from reckless speculation or actions that could cause harm to either party, emphasizing the importance of respecting their personal lives.

Favorite New Music This Week

ZEROBASEONE marked a new chapter in their artistry this week with their first full-length album, “NEVER SAY NEVER.” The 10-track project balances powerful performances, emotional ballads, and playful dance tracks, showcasing a more confident and mature side of the group while staying true to their message of resilience and hope.

The album opens with the standout anthem “ICONIK,” a nu-disco dance-pop track that lives up to its name, despite a brief lull in the bridge. Tracks like “SLAM DUNK” and “Extra” push the group into bolder hip-hop territory, while “Lovesick Game” and “Long Way Back” highlight their emotional depth. Lighter cuts such as “Goosebumps” and “Dumb” capture the spirit of youth with playful energy, while “Now or Never” blends J-pop influences with urgency and heart.

Toward the end, “Star Eyes” builds to a triumphant, orchestral-like climax, before “I Know You Know” closes the album with a heartfelt dedication to fans, ZEROSE.

With contributions from renowned producers and a careful balance of experimentation and familiarity, “NEVER SAY NEVER” feels both like a culmination of ZEROBASEONE’s journey so far and a bold statement of what lies ahead. It’s a defining release that cements their place as rising icons.
