SEVENTEEN Confirms Enlistment Timeline for Mingyu, DK, Seungkwan, Vernon and Dino, Reunion Planned for 2028

SEVENTEEN has officially confirmed that members Mingyu, DK, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino will begin mandatory military enlistment in the second half of 2026.

The update was shared during the group’s variety show "God of Communication" with producer Na PD, giving fans clearer insight into how the remaining enlistments will unfold. With this announcement, the group also projected a complete reunion as all 13 members in 2028, after every member has fulfilled their service duties.

In South Korea, military service is required for most able-bodied men and generally lasts between 18 and 21 months depending on assignment. Several SEVENTEEN members are already enlisted, including Jeonghan, Wonwoo, Woozi, and Hoshi.

During the broadcast, SEVENTEEN's general leader S.Coups spoke about the upcoming break, acknowledging its emotional impact while emphasizing the group’s intention to return as a whole. The news prompted a strong response from fans, who shared mixed feelings of disappointment and excitement for SEVENTEEN’s eventual comeback as OT13 in 2028.

G-Dragon has unveiled a new creative collaboration between his label PEACEMINUSONE and Nike, teaming up with the Korea Football Association to launch the “Tigers of Asia” collection ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The capsule blends sport and street aesthetics through a black-dominant pre-match jersey, detailed with a vivid graphic treatment on the reverse, alongside coordinated track pieces and a tailored Tech Fleece set. A standout sneaker, the PEACEMINUSONE x Nike CryoShot, reworks the classic CTR360 Maestri II boot into a lifestyle silhouette featuring a frozen cleat design embedded in a transparent sole unit.

Separately, aespa’s Karina has been featured in Nike Football’s latest campaign visuals tied to the same World Cup push, appearing as part of the brand’s global roster of cultural figures spotlighting national team identity through fashion-forward storytelling. Her inclusion highlights Nike’s continued focus on merging K-pop influence with football culture on an international scale.

While G-Dragon and aespa’s Karina did not collaborate directly on the Nike projects, the two have previously worked together in music. Most recently, G-Dragon appeared on aespa’s prerelease track “WDA (Whole Different Animal)” from their upcoming album “LEMONADE,” further highlighting their ongoing creative crossover.

BTS Dominates American Music Awards with Sweep, Marking Powerful Comeback Post-Hiatus

BTS made a commanding return to the American Music Awards, emerging as one of the night’s biggest winners after securing victories across all of their nominated categories. The group, attending AMA for the first time in four years, reaffirmed their global influence by scoring Artist of the Year, Best Male K-Pop Artist, and Song of the Summer for “SWIM.”

The wins place BTS at the center of the 2026 AMAs, underscoring their continued dominance in both mainstream and K-pop categories as they re-engage with international award circuits following a period of reduced group activity. Their Artist of the Year win, in particular, positioned them ahead of major global acts in a fan-voted category that reflected strong worldwide support.

In addition to BTS’s clean sweep, the ceremony also highlighted broader K-pop adjacent success on the global stage. KATSEYE also made a notable appearance, taking home New Artist of The Year award and strengthening their presence among rising global acts.

Favorite New Music This Week

aespa’s “Lemonade” feels like a confident return to the group’s core strengths, blending sleek electronic production with the ættitude that have defined their recent run of hits. The track leans into the club-ready sound, pairing a driving beat with rap-focused verses and an instantly recognizable hook.

Now, there some of the lyrics are a little puzzling; lines like “I got no ETA” don’t make much sense (assuming ETA is shortened for Estimated Time of Arrival). But they hardly detract from the song’s appeal. As a summer anthem, “Lemonade” is undeniably fun. Compared to “Rich Man,” it feels sharper, more cohesive, and far more in line with aespa’s signature style.
