Paramount Launches $108 Billion Hostile Bid to Steal Warner Bros. Discovery from Netflix

The stakes for Hollywood are incredibly high. The Netflix acquisition had already caught the attention of the US President and raised concerns among powerful unions about the future of theater releases. In response, Paramount is promising to release at least 30 films in theaters each year if it wins the bid for WBD, positioning itself against Netflix's streaming-first focus. This intense bidding war is poised to redefine the global media landscape and the future of blockbuster filmmaking.

Chappell Roan Named Global Ambassador for MAC Cosmetics

Chappell Roan is starting 2026 with a major new role: the chart-topper has been named the newest global ambassador for MAC Cosmetics, and will star in the brand's campaigns worldwide beginning next year. The partnership is deeply personal for the 27-year-old artist, who stated that "Partnering with MAC feels full circle." Roan praised the cosmetics giant for its longstanding commitment to supporting "art, queerness, drag and self-expression," emphasizing their "amazing and thoughtful collaborators on this new journey." This move follows a successful history of high-profile collaboration, with MAC crafting her memorable, signature makeup looks for the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, 2024 Saturday Night Live, and the 2025 Grammys.

The official collaboration is set to launch with a campaign that is "unmistakably her," according to MAC Cosmetics Global Creative Director, Nicola Formichetti. Formichetti called Roan "one of the most exciting and powerful artists of this generation, a true creative force who uses beauty as a form of bold, emotional storytelling." The vision for the first campaign is described as “a modern take on androgyny that feels powerful, graphic, and unmistakably her,” drawing from film-noir monochrome and military references blended with Roan's signature high glamour aesthetic. The partnership solidifies the mutual commitment to self-expression and cements Roan's growing influence across both the music and beauty industries.

'Pyjama Man' Ejected from Lady Gaga Concert

Australian influencer Johnson Wen, known as "Pyjama Man," is facing backlash after attempting to attend Lady Gaga’s The Mayhem Ball concert in Brisbane, despite being banned due to his troubling history of stage intrusions. Recently, Wen pleaded guilty to public nuisance for accosting Ariana Grande at the Singapore premiere of Wicked: For Good. Footage showed him being swiftly escorted from the concert venue as fans booed. Wen confirmed his removal on Instagram, humorously captioning a selfie, “Got kicked out of the Lady Gaga concert!” This latest incident underscores the music industry's growing zero-tolerance stance on safety risks from disruptive behavior.
