JADE calls out Matty Healy for being apolitical

In an interview with The Guardian, JADE had called out The 1975’s frontman Matty Healy for choosing to be apolitical during his set at Glastonbury.
“I don’t think you can be a pop artist and cover your eyes. I saw Matty Healy say that he doesn’t want to be political, which I found disappointing,” the 32-year-old singer asserted.
JADE was referencing how Healy had told the audience he didn’t want the band’s legacy to be “one of politics, but of love and friendship.”
“It’s very easy for someone who’s white and straight and very privileged to say that. Good for you, hun!” she added.
By contrast, JADE did not hesitate to speak out for what she believed in. During her festival set, she took a stand against transphobia, welfare cuts, censorship of protests, and the sale of arms.
“I saw a lot of people saying ‘Your Glastonbury set was really good until you got political’ or ‘I used to be a fan of yours until you got political’. But, hun, you were never a fan, because I’ve always piped up,” she said.
“I was ready for a backlash from the right kind of people,” JADE fired back.
Gal Gadot blames ‘Snow White’ flop on anti-Israel backlash

Gal Gadot, who stars as the Evil Queen in Disney’s live-action Snow White, recently addressed the film’s underwhelming performance.
Speaking on Israeli TV’s The A Talks, she suggested that anti-Israel sentiment may have played a role, citing pressure within Hollywood for celebrities to take a stance on the ongoing war between Israel and Gaza.
“I was sure this movie was going to be a huge hit. And then it happened,” she said, noting how the continuous bombings and widespread starvation experienced by the people in Gaza shaped public perception.
Gadot explained that critics often judged her “first and foremost as an Israeli, not as an actress.”
“And what followed, as you know, what happened a lot in various industries, including Hollywood, there’s pressure on celebrities to speak against Israel,” Gadot continued.
“I can always explain and try to give context about what’s happening here and I always do that. But, in the end, people make their own decisions,” she added.
Later, she clarified her remarks on Instagram, admitting her earlier comments came from “an emotional place.”
She emphasized that the film’s struggles could not be blamed solely on politics, writing: “There are many factors that determine why a film succeeds or fails, and success is never guaranteed.”
