ABC Suspends Jimmy Kimmel Indefinitely Over On-Air Comments

ABC has indefinitely suspended late-night host Jimmy Kimmel following comments he made about the fatal shooting of right-wing influencer Charlie Kirk. A spokesperson for the Disney-owned network confirmed the suspension, stating that Jimmy Kimmel Live! would be preempted indefinitely. The decision came just hours after Brendan Carr, Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and a Trump appointee, threatened to take action against the network and Disney.
On his show earlier this week, Kimmel had accused the "Maga Gang" of attempting to score political points from Kirk's death, mocking President Donald Trump's reaction to the event and stating that the term "Maga Gang" was meant to characterize the suspect in the shooting as a supporter of the political group. In a social media post, Trump celebrated the news, writing, "The ratings-challenged Jimmy Kimmel Show is CANCELLED. Congratulations to ABC for finally having the courage to do what had to be done."
The Muppet Show Special To Star Sabrina Carpenter
The Muppet Show is set to make a comeback on Disney+ with a one-off special event in 2026 to mark the original show’s 50th anniversary. The special will see the Muppets return to their classic theatre to produce a new variety show, with pop star Sabrina Carpenter set to guest star. The event could also serve as a backdoor pilot to launch a new iteration of the iconic series, a source told Variety.
The special will feature a team of veteran Muppet performers, including Dave Goelz, who originated the characters of Gonzo and Dr. Bunsen Honeydew. The new installment will be written and executive produced by Albertina Rizzo, with Alex Timbers directing. Carpenter will also serve as an executive producer on the project alongside Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg of Point Grey Pictures.

The Summer I Turned Pretty to Conclude with a Movie

The story of The Summer I Turned Pretty isn't over just yet. After the three-season television adaptation of Jenny Han’s best-selling trilogy came to a climactic end, Amazon Prime Video announced that the story will continue with a forthcoming movie. Han stated that she felt a film was the only way to give the final part of Belly's journey its "proper due," and she expressed gratitude to Prime Video for supporting her vision for the story.
While much of the show has been based on Han’s books, the final three episodes of the series notably deviated from the original source material. Jenny Han will return to write the movie alongside Sarah Kucserka, though exact plot and casting details have yet to be announced.

Best New Track: Man Of Your Word by Cardi B

Today we can finally say Cardi B’s sophomore album is here.
The Grammy-winning Invasion of Privacy was an insane kickoff of a career. The album made Cardi the second woman ever to win the “Best Rap Album” trophy, featured two No. 1 singles, and became the best-selling female rap album of this century. Most likely, the seven year gap of albums probably came down to all the pressure of making a record just as good. So, did she pull it off?
AM I THE DRAMA? cuts straight to the point. The song “Dead” with Summer Walker begins with a collection of news sound bites which link Cardi to a “series of brutal killings.” Selena Gomez features on “Pick It Up” (they previously collaborated on “Taki Taki”) and these two still compliment each other pretty well. We like “What’s Going On” which has Lizzo singing “What’s Up?” by 4 Non Blondes throughout as Cardi lays out a relationship falling apart. Janet Jackson is on the album, too, which makes for a really special moment.
Our favorite goes to “Man Of Your Word” which finds Cardi unusually vulnerable. “As a wife, I should've realized when you was hurt,” she says. Here’s the moment that proved the seven year wait was worth it.
