Heeseung Announces Solo Debut as “Evan”

Lee Heeseung will make his solo debut under the stage name “Evan,” marking a new chapter in his career following his departure from ENHYPEN last month. The announcement was made by BELIFT LAB on April 8, 2026, confirming both his rebrand and upcoming solo activities.

The agency stated that Heeseung will continue under BELIFT LAB as a soloist, with preparations for his debut currently underway. While an album is in development, no official release date, title, or musical direction has been disclosed.

In an official press release, Heeseung described “Evan” as both an artistic identity and a personal narrative, stating, “Evan is a name I’ve cherished since childhood… Through this name, I hope to reach fans with music that fully expresses my most honest and natural self.”

Following the announcement, he launched an Instagram account under the Evan name, which has reached 3.2 million followers at the time of publication.

Saint Paul Declares April 12 as “TWICE Day”

The mayor of Saint Paul has officially proclaimed April 12, 2026, as “TWICE Day” in honor of TWICE and their concert in the city. The announcement, issued by Melvin Carter, coincides with the group’s scheduled tour stop on the same date.

“I am proud to proclaim Sunday, April 12, 2026, as TWICE Day in the City of Saint Paul,” the mayor said, highlighting the group’s global impact and the cultural significance of their visit.

According to the proclamation, the designation recognizes TWICE’s international influence and their role in bringing diverse audiences together, while also underscoring the growing presence of K-pop in the United States.

“TWICE Day” is a ceremonial honor rather than an official public holiday, with no impact on city services. Such proclamations are commonly issued to mark notable cultural events and visiting artists.

Favorite New Music This Week

This week, the sibling-duo AKMU released their first album after leaving YG, and it is their fourth mini album, “Flowering.” The project is a tender reflection on grief, comfort, and emotional healing, centered on the title track “Joy, Sorrow, A Beautiful Heart.” Rather than separating joy and pain, the album suggests they exist together, shaping one another. Its music video traces a quiet journey of recovery, echoing themes of emotional renewal and acceptance.

The album has resonated deeply with listeners, many of whom connect it to personal experiences of loss, illness, and longing, describing it as unexpectedly consoling in moments of vulnerability. Lee Chan-hyuk’s heartfelt songwriting grounds the project in sincerity, transforming intimate emotion into something universally shared and deeply healing.
