Despite being in their 10th year, JYPE girl group TWICE has no plans to stop achieving milestones. On Oct. 8, it was confirmed that TWICE will be headlining the 2025 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, sharing the stage with KAROL G, Madison Beer, and Missy Elliot.

The event is scheduled to take place on Oct. 15 in New York City and will stream live on Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. ET across Victoria’s Secret’s Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok pages.

Kep1er Becomes First K-Pop Act to Join ‘No Music For Genocide’ Boycott Supporting Palestine

Kep1er has become the first K-pop act to join No Music For Genocide, a cultural boycott that geo-blocks music from appearing on streaming platforms in Israel. While the girl group’s agencies, WAKEONE and Klap Entertainment, have not issued an official statement, the inclusion appears authentic, as the process to be added to the list is both extensive and verified.

More than 1,000 artists and labels, including Björk, Dua Lipa, Lorde, and AURORA, have already joined the movement, although Kep1er remains the first K-pop act to show support for Palestine through participation in the boycott.

DPR Ian Speaks Out About Fraud, Betrayal, and Mental Health

Instagram: @DPRIAN

On Oct. 7, K-R&B artist and DPR co-founder DPR Ian (real name Christian Yu) opened up on his Twitter account @DPRIAN_ about financial debt and betrayal by his former coworker DPR REM.

In his candid posts, DPR Ian stated that despite working tirelessly behind the visuals, sound design, and production of DPR projects, he had “never received any financial benefit in over ten years” and is currently in debt.

As the artist has previously been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and DID, fans speculated that the posts may have been made during a breakdown episode. However, on Oct. 10, DPR Ian addressed those concerns on X, writing, “Please don’t speculate. My team right now ALWAYS puts their best interest in me, especially for my mental state.

Favorite New Music This Week

This week’s best album turned out to be a Thai-English release rather than a Korean one. Still, given BamBam’s standing as a K-pop star, it feels only fitting to feature it here.

“HOMETOWN” features five self-written and composed tracks, with its music video set against the backdrop of BamBam’s native country Thailand. The project reflects on the idea of hometown as a person rather than a place.

The album opens with the pre-release track “Dancing By Myself (feat. Timethai)”, a groovy, funk-inflected dance-pop number that perfectly sets the tone. The song explores contentment in solitude, though it could also hint at emotional loyalty, someone turning down new advances because their heart belongs elsewhere, as heard in the lines “Don’t waste your time / Don’t wanna be where you are.” This idea flows naturally into “More Than Friends (feat. Jeff Satur)”, an equally vibey yet more emotional track that declares, “It’s official, I just wanna be more than friends.”

At the heart of the album sits its title track, “WONDERING,” a light, funk-inspired song with airy, high-pitched vocals that capture the ache of searching for a lost love, the feeling of drifting without a lighthouse.

Next comes “Greenlight (feat. INK WARUNTORN)”, which, as its name suggests, symbolizes permission, forward motion, and emotional clarity. The album closes with “Angel in Disguise,” notably co-produced by Pharrell Williams. With its Thai-influenced string intro and layered vocals that build into an almost orchestral, cathedral-like sound, and stands out as the album’s most emotionally resonant and sonically rich track.
