Nearly every generation of New York basketball fans has waited for this moment. On Saturday night, the wait finally ended.

The New York Knicks captured their first NBA championship in more than five decades, defeating the San Antonio Spurs 94-90 in a tense Finals-clinching showdown on the road.

For much of the night, it appeared the Spurs were on track to force the series to continue. San Antonio built a double-digit advantage in the first half and entered halftime with a comfortable lead. But the Knicks responded with the resilience that defined their postseason run, gradually erasing the deficit before taking control in the closing stages.

At the center of the triumph was Jalen Brunson, who delivered a performance that instantly entered league history. The star guard erupted for 45 points and was later named NBA Finals MVP, cementing his place among the franchise's all-time greats.

“I have no words. It's everything I've ever dreamed of,” Brunson said after the victory. “I don't know what I'm feeling. I'm in awe. Whenever someone counted us out, we found a way to do something about [it].”

The achievement places Brunson alongside some of basketball's biggest legends. His 45-point outburst matched the record set by Michael Jordan for the most points scored on the road in an NBA Finals-clinching game.

For Knicks fans, however, the statistics may be secondary. After 53 years of near misses, heartbreak, and rebuilding seasons, the franchise has finally returned to the top of the basketball world.

The rumored couple was seen dining at a Brooklyn restaurant, Lucali, on Friday night, where onlookers said they appeared completely focused on one another throughout the meal. According to TMZ, Palmer and Evans spent more than an hour together at a candlelit table, sparking immediate curiosity among fans after photos from the outing surfaced online.

While neither Palmer nor Evans has publicly addressed the speculation, eyewitness accounts have only intensified interest. One source claimed the two appeared deeply engaged in conversation for most of the evening, with Evans allegedly looking particularly captivated by the actress and singer.

The sighting comes as Palmer continues to enjoy a successful stretch in her career following recent film and television projects, while Evans remains one of the most recognizable interviewers on the internet thanks to the popularity of Hot Ones.

Tyra Banks sues Netflix for defamation over ANTM documentary

Tyra Banks is pushing back against what she describes as a damaging portrayal in a recent Netflix documentary, filing a defamation lawsuit against the streaming giant over its docuseries examining the legacy of America's Next Top Model.

The lawsuit, filed Saturday, alleges that Netflix's Reality Check: Inside America's Next Top Model distorted Banks' role in the long-running reality franchise through editing choices that created a misleading narrative about her conduct behind the scenes.

According to court filings, Banks argues that footage from a lengthy interview was selectively cut and rearranged in a way that falsely suggested she knowingly ignored a contestant's alleged sexual assault and later failed to acknowledge the incident. The lawsuit calls that portrayal "a complete fabrication" and claims the documentary presented it to millions of viewers worldwide.

Banks says she agreed to participate in the project because she wanted an open discussion about the show's complicated legacy, including criticisms that have followed the series years after it left the air. However, she alleges that only a fraction of her interview was ultimately included in the final cut and that her comments were removed from their original context.

“Tyra Banks participated in the Netflix documentary series America's Next Top Model because she believed viewers deserved a candid conversation about the show's legacy—its successes and its shortcomings,” the lawsuit states.

Netflix has not publicly responded to the lawsuit.

Paramount’s merger with Warner Bros receives approval from Justice department

The future of Hollywood took a major turn this week as Paramount secured federal approval for its massive bid to acquire Warner Bros. Discovery, clearing one of the biggest hurdles in a deal that could dramatically reshape the entertainment industry.

The U.S. Department of Justice signed off on the proposed $111 billion acquisition, concluding that the merger is unlikely to harm competition and could instead strengthen Paramount's position against rival media giants. The decision allows the takeover process to move forward, though the transaction still faces scrutiny from state regulators, including officials in California.

If completed, the deal would transform Paramount Global into an even larger entertainment powerhouse. The company would add an impressive portfolio of assets, including CNN, HBO, DC Studios and New Line Cinema to a lineup that already includes CBS, Showtime, Nickelodeon and Paramount Pictures.

The proposed merger has sparked fierce debate across Hollywood. More than 1,400 actors, filmmakers and industry professionals have voiced opposition, warning that further consolidation could reduce opportunities for creators and lead to additional job cuts throughout the entertainment business.

Supporters of the deal, however, argue that combining the two media giants would create a stronger competitor in an increasingly crowded marketplace dominated by streaming services and tech-backed entertainment companies.
