Driver’s License to the Battle Bus: Olivia Rodrigo’s Fortnite Crossover

Olivia Rodrigo has entered the metaverse. Following a week of intense teasing that left fans guessing, Epic Games has confirmed that the 23-year-old pop powerhouse is the latest superstar to join Fortnite’s prestigious Icon Series. The massive crossover celebrates the release of her highly anticipated third studio album, You Seem Pretty Sad For A Girl In Love. Dropping directly into the game, players can now head to the shop to snag two distinct outfits, the "Sour Olivia Rodrigo" look and the brand-new album-themed "Lover Girl" ensemble, complete with reactive styles and adorable LEGO Minifigure variants.
The collaboration goes far beyond just skins, bringing a full cosmetic set and three new Jam Tracks, "Drop Dead," "Maggots For Brains," and her classic hit "Deja Vu” to the newly launched mobile karaoke mode in Fortnite Festival. Players exploring the Battle Royale island can even hunt down Rodrigo’s in-game NPC to unlock a free Heart Locket spray and a custom loading screen just by jamming near her. "I’ve always loved how Fortnite brings people together in a really specific way," Rodrigo shared in an official statement, expressing her excitement to see gamers rock her iconic album looks.
The Academy Unveils Its Class of 2026
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has invited 529 industry professionals to join its 2026 class, including Jacob Elordi, Mia Goth, Jenna Ortega, Jon Bernthal, Josh D’Amaro, Stephen Fry, Josh Gad, and Jenny Slate. The group includes 95 Oscar nominees and 21 winners; if everyone accepts, total Academy membership will rise to 11,319, with 10,338 voting members.
This year’s class also reflects the Academy’s ongoing diversity push: 42% are women, 53% are international members from 60 countries, and 56% come from underrepresented ethnic and racial communities, up from 45% last year. Academy leaders Bill Kramer and Lynette Howell Taylor praised the invitees’ contributions to global film, underscoring the institution’s continued efforts to broaden its voting body a decade after #OscarsSoWhite.
