Megan Thee Stallion Files Restraining Order Against Tory Lanez

Megan Thee Stallion is taking legal action against Tory Lanez once again, alleging that he continues to harass her from behind bars. The Grammy-winning rapper filed a new petition, seeking a restraining order to prevent Lanez from contacting, attacking, or harassing her in any way.

In the 193-page document obtained by Rolling Stone, Megan Pete, as she is legally known, argues that the expiration of a previous criminal protective order has left her without adequate protection from Lanez’s alleged harassment. She claims that Lanez has been using “bloggers” and “puppets” to post online messages aimed at re-traumatizing her.

Megan Thee Stallion’s legal team is seeking a civil restraining order to provide additional protection beyond what the current criminal justice system can offer. The new petition highlights the ongoing emotional distress and fear that she experiences as a result of Lanez’s alleged harassment.

This latest legal move comes after Lanez was convicted of assault with a semiautomatic firearm in December 2022 for shooting Megan Pete in both feet during a dispute in 2020. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison in August 2023.

Taylor Swift Celebrates Birthday With Eras-Themed Party

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce pulled out all the stops for Taylor Swift’s birthday, throwing a surprise “Eras” themed party that was the talk of the town.

The star-studded event celebrated Swift’s illustrious career, with every detail carefully curated to mirror her iconic Eras Tour. The party was a dream come true for any Swiftie, from friendship bracelets to elaborate table settings inspired by her various album aesthetics.

Guests were encouraged to dress up as their favorite Taylor Swift era, and the results were nothing short of spectacular. From the glamorous 1989 era to the folk-inspired Evermore, the party was a visual feast of Swift’s evolution. It was a celebration of Taylor’s journey, music, and the people around her.

Billie Eilish Reflects on Growth and Personal Milestones in Vanity Fair Interview

In her eighth interview with Vanity Fair since 2017, Billie Eilish has opened up about her past year. The singer-songwriter, now 22, admitted to a newfound sense of self-awareness. “This is the first year in my life that I keep forgetting how old I am,” she confesses.

Eilish’s 2024 album, HIT ME HARD AND SOFT, was a massive success, becoming the second most-streamed album on Spotify and spawning hit single “Birds of a Feather.” The song has earned three GRAMMY nominations, including Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Pop Solo Performance.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Eilish also discussed her personal life. She revealed that the past year has been marked by strong friendships and positive experiences. “I’ve done nothing but make friends all year, and gotten so close with people that I wasn’t with before, and became friends with people I used to be friends with again,” she shared. “It’s just been a year filled with friendship.”

With a playful smile, she added, “And yes, I’ve had a lot of good sex. So you’re welcome, Billie.”

In the interview, Eilish also revealed that Lady Gaga is the artist she has been listening to a lot lately, “Old Lady Gaga is just so good,” she explained, “Alejandro, and Poker Face and G.U.Y and Born This Way.”

New Music Friday

This week, Timothée Chalamet completely takes on his portrayal of Bob Dylan for the singer’s upcoming biopic A Complete Unknown. The movie’s soundtrack includes many of Dylan’s prominent hits such as “Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right” and “Like a Rolling Stone” sang by Chalamet. The actor, who did all of his own singing, has actually quite a remarkable voice that steers to the songwriting icon — so much that, at some point, you really might get confused who’s who. The film releases today.

Katy Perry put out the deluxe version of 143. It’s named 1432, which apparently is a number code for “I love you, too” so we have to applaud the creativity there. It contains four new tracks, and among them, “NO TEARS FOR NEW YEAR’S” is a big standout. “First thing on my list I’m gonna do / is quitting you / heartbreaker,” she sings in the pre-chorus. It has a pretty good appeal melody wise. We could see ourselves playing this one again.

Lady Gaga covered “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town” in a very interesting and wildly unique punk-rock way. This is something you have to listen for yourself to really believe it.

Miley Cyrus has an original song for the film The Last Showgirl. It’s nice hearing her again in such a vulnerable state, though the song is pretty short.

SZA delayed the release of the SOS deluxe LANA, claiming it would drop “first thing” today, but it hasn’t yet. We suppose that’s alright, though, because she gave us a slight glimpse into an apparent track on the album with the music video for “Drive.” This song puts SZA at her absolute highest quality. She has our favorite release this week, even if the deluxe drops or not.
