32-year-old Dora Moono Nyambe, a TikToker who used her platform to help children in Africa, passed away on Christmas day. Her cause of death is yet to be made public.
“It is with a heavy [heart] that we announce the sudden departure of our beloved Dora,” the announcement on Instagram read. “She will be remembered as a loved mother, heroine, peace philanthropist, and an extraordinary woman,” it added.
Nyambe launched a non-profit organization called Footprints of Hope, which aims to build schools in her hometown of Zambia.
With the help of her supporters, the non-profit raised enough funds to establish a campus that became the second home of 350 students–complete with amenities like dormitories, classrooms, a library, and a cafeteria that served free meals.
She also became the mother of 12 adopted children and fostered more than 200 others.
On top of that, she ensured that more than 500 kids were fed every day.
In her final video, Nyambe looked back on her journey as a mother. “When I started to adopt, people said I couldn't do it because of my age and being unmarried,” she noted.
Her caption summed up her approach to life: “One day at a time.”

President-elect Donald Trump has requested the Supreme Court to postpone the implementation of the Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act until January 19, 2025 to give his administration the “opportunity to pursue a political resolution.”
The law, once implemented, will require applications owned by entities in North Korea, Russia, Iran, or China to either face a ban or sell their platform to an American company. Since TikTok is owned by the Chinese company ByteDance, it falls under this regulation.
“President Trump opposes banning TikTok in the United States at this juncture, and seeks the ability to resolve the issues at hand through political means once he takes office,” wrote Trump’s lawyer and prospective US solicitor general D. John Sauer.
“[He] takes no position on the merits of the dispute. Instead, he urges the Court to stay the statute’s effective date to allow his incoming Administration to pursue a negotiated resolution that could prevent a nationwide shutdown of TikTok, thus preserving the First Amendment rights of tens of millions of Americans, while also addressing the government’s national security concerns,” Sauer added.
Notably, the president-elect had a meeting with TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew earlier this month at his Mar-a-Lago club.
Just hours before that, Trump said in a press-conference that he had a “warm spot in [his] heart” for the application, a stark contrast to the narrative that he adopted four years ago.
