John Krasinki Crowned People’s ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ for 2024

Talented actor and filmmaker, John Krasinski, has been named People magazine's "Sexiest Man Alive" for 2024. Renowned for his portrayal of Jim Halpert in the beloved US version of The Office, Krasinski has also made significant strides as a director, most notably with the critically acclaimed horror films A Quiet Place and its sequel, in which he starred alongside his wife, Emily Blunt.

The 45-year-old's unexpected honor left him momentarily stunned. "Just immediate blackout, actually. Just zero thoughts," he confessed. When asked about his wife's reaction, Krasinski shared her playful response: "She joked she was going to wallpaper the house with the cover of People magazine."

With a humble and gracious attitude, Krasinski expressed his disbelief: "That's not how I wake up, thinking, 'Is this the day that I'll be asked to be Sexiest Man Alive?' And yet it was the day you guys did it. You guys have really raised the bar for me."

The actor jokingly admitted that he anticipates an increase in household chores as a result of his newfound title. "I do think it's going to make me do more household chores, but I'm willing to take the cons with the pros, to be honest with you," Krasinski told the magazine. He further speculated that his wife might use his newfound fame as leverage: "I think after the cover comes out she'll be like, 'alright, that means now you're really going to earn it here at home'."

Krasinski takes over the "Sexiest Man Alive" title from Grey's Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey, who held the honor in 2023.

Pop icon and acclaimed actress Lady Gaga is set to make a surprise appearance in the highly anticipated second season of Netflix's Wednesday. While the specifics of her role remain shrouded in mystery, sources confirm that she will be making a cameo in the series, which is currently filming in Ireland.

Initial plans had aimed to secure Gaga for a more substantial role in Season 2, but scheduling conflicts prevented this from materializing. Nevertheless, her cameo promises to add an extra layer of intrigue to the already dark and whimsical world of Wednesday.

Representatives for Netflix and Gaga have not yet commented on the news.

This marks the latest acting venture for Gaga, whose illustrious career spans music, film, and television. She recently starred alongside Joaquin Phoenix in Joker: Folie à Deux and earned an Academy Award nomination for her performance in A Star Is Born opposite Bradley Cooper. Additionally, she has been recognized for her songwriting prowess, winning an Oscar for "Hold My Hand" from Top Gun: Maverick. Her filmography also includes House of Gucci and multiple seasons of American Horror Story.

BLACKPINK fans have much to anticipate as Lisa, a member of the renowned K-pop group, has officially confirmed their 2025 reunion. In a recent interview with Billboard, Lisa expressed her excitement to reunite with Jisoo, Jennie, and Rosé, sharing, “I can’t wait.”

While specific details about the reunion remain undisclosed, speculation is rife about whether it will involve a new album or a world tour. YG Entertainment previously hinted at a full-scale comeback and a global tour in 2025, though Lisa’s response, “That’s what they say?” suggests that the final plans are still being finalized. Alice Kang, head of global business at Lisa’s agency, Lloud, echoed this sentiment, stating, “We’ll have to wait and see what YG confirms.”

In the interim, Lisa has been actively pursuing her solo career, gracing prestigious events like the 2024 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show and the Global Citizen Festival.

Despite her solo endeavors and the establishment of Lloud, Lisa has reassured fans of her unwavering commitment to BLACKPINK. The confirmed 2025 reunion marks a new chapter for the iconic quartet, and fans eagerly await further updates from YG Entertainment on their upcoming projects.

Merry Christmas—Please Don’t Call

Bleachers, the band lead by the acclaimed producer Jack Antonoff, released their new single this week titled “Merry Christmas, Please Don’t Call.” The synths in this song are absolutely marvelous and downright gorgeous for the upcoming holiday season. If you’re a big fan of the not-so-merry-lyrical side of Christmas, this song is custom made for you.

Lady Gaga released “Disease – The Antidote Live” which is actually the single in a more acoustic form. It’s a really nice presentation of the song. The live instrumental is also available for streaming, too.

Linkin Park’s new album arrived. It’s called From Zero, and it’s a full alternative rock venture. It feels like a proper celebration of the band’s career up to now. “Two Faced” and “Good Things Go” are great songs.

Tate McRae released her new single “2 Hands” after officially announcing her new album So Close To What which comes out February 21. “2 Hands” gives the singer full electro-pop treatment and has great success in doing so. We’re really enjoying this song today.

Shawn Mendes put out his album Shawn. This record finds the singer at completely new stripped down version of himself, and it seems as though he took some necessary time off to figure that out. “I spent a weekend in the jungle / Swore I came out a new man,” he sings on “The Mountain.” The album finishes with Mendes covering “Hallelujah” by Leonard Cohen, which feels just right for the current state of self-discovery the singer appears to be in.

Lil Nas X released his new song “Light Again!” which actually has production by Thomas Bangalter from the band Daft Punk. It’s a pretty fun endeavor.

Jin’s EP Happy certainly meets the expectation of its name. Though six songs only, the music still succeeds in carrying out its very own life span. “Running Wild” is our favorite right off the bat.

Juice WRLD’s latest release is “AGATS2 (Insecure)” which features Nicki Minaj and Halsey, actually — though you’ll have to listen especially close for her. Nicki is a great addition on this track.

FKA Twigs released “Drums of Death” featuring Koreless. Twigs first teased this song in the “Eusexua” music video during a choreographed dance break that went partly viral on X. The song is incredibly addicting, having already found its way onto our repeat playlist, and we’re so looking forward to the album’s full release. We have to give this our favorite release of the week. Eusexua is out January 24.
