At her Nashville concert on Wednesday, Billie Eilish, known for her passionate and vocal support of Kamala Harris, struggled to maintain her composure as she confronted the harsh reality of the 2024 election results.

Hours after Donald Trump secured his victory, the atmosphere in the venue was charged with emotion. Eilish, visibly shaken and with tears in her eyes, candidly expressed her turmoil with the audience. She explained how difficult it was for her to step onto the stage and perform under such disheartening circumstances, nd explained that the clash between her love for performing live and her deep disappointment over the election outcome had left her feeling vulnerable.

Despite the celebration of her concert, Eilish’s heartfelt expressions of struggle and determination struck a chord with her fans, fostering a sense of unity in a moment of collective grief and resilience.

Barry Keoghan Raves About Girlfriend Sabrina Carpenter in New Interview

Academy Award-nominated actor Barry Keoghan recently gushed about his relationship with pop star Sabrina Carpenter during an episode of Spotify’s The Louis Theroux Podcast. When directly asked about their relationship status, Keoghan, with a playful laugh, responded, “Oh, I knew you’d do this.” He continued, "Listen, all I’m going to say is I’m incredibly blessed. Such a strong, independent lady who’s massively talented and yeah. Pretty special."

The pair first ignited romance rumors in late 2023, officially debuting as a couple at the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty the following March. Their on-screen chemistry further fueled speculation, as Keoghan starred in the music video for Carpenter's Billboard Hot 100 hit, "Please Please Please," featured on her album Short n' Sweet.

Following the album's release on August 23rd, fans quickly theorized that several tracks, including the explicit "Bed Chem," were inspired by the Irish actor. The lyrics, such as "I was in a sheer dress the day that we met/ We were both in a rush, we talked for a sec," and "Who’s the cute boy with the white jacket and the thick accent? … Who’s the cute guy with the wide, blue eyes?" further ignited these rumors.

Jimmy Kimmel Gets Choked Up During Heartfelt Election Reflection

Talk show host Jimmy Kimmel fought back tears as he addressed the audience following Donald Trump's election victory, which he labelled a "terrible night" for the nation.

In a heartfelt opening monologue, Kimmel articulated the stark choice that faced voters, characterizing it as a decision between a prosecutor and a criminal, ultimately lamenting that "we chose the criminal."

He further emphasized the potential implications of the election results, suggesting it was a "really good night" for Russian President Vladimir Putin, hinting at widespread apprehensions regarding America's ongoing commitment to supporting Ukraine amidst rising global tensions. Overcome with emotion, Kimmel mournfully reflected on the broader repercussions of the election, declaring it a disastrous event for women, children, and the countless hardworking immigrants who contribute essential labor to the country’s infrastructure. He noted the chilling impact this night would have on health care, climate action, scientific progress, journalism, justice, and free speech.

Kimmel expressed deep concern for vulnerable populations, stating it was a dreadful night for the poor and the middle class, as well as for seniors who depend on social security. He voiced worries about the implications for U.S. allies in Ukraine, NATO, and the overarching values of truth, democracy, and decency.

In a poignant conclusion, he reached out to all voters, asserting that it was a terrible night for everyone who opposed him, but also a grim night for those who voted for him—a sentiment they might not fully grasp yet.

New Music Friday

We should probably give you a proper forewarning—we’re still wearing last night’s mascara.

Griff’s new single puts the singer in a really upbeat environment surrounded by morning regrets of the not so glorious night before. But, she maintains her regular tongue in cheek lyricism. “Last night’s mascara’s such a wonderful thing / It’s as dark as my heart / Yet it’s sparkling,” she sings.

Raye released “Oscar Winning Tears.” in a single format. This song just demonstrates the singer’s expressive storytelling so well. “Please get nice and comfortable / And lock your phones,” she says directly at the audience. Such a unique approach to a song’s opening.

XG’s new mini album AWE opens with “HOWL” which contains a brilliant orchestra and a wolf’s howl at the very end. This goes into “HOWLING” which is a pretty well formed rap song. “IN THE RAIN” has a pleasant chorus and a genius second verse. It’s definitely our favorite track as of right now.

VIVIZ also released their new mini album VOYAGE alongside their newest single “Shhh!” which is lots of fun and has a wonderfully exploding verse leading up to the bridge. The drums add such great effect, and the guitar at the end is absolutely great.

The “Stargazing” singer Myles Smith released “Nice To Meet You” and it’s a very heartening anthem that almost reminds us of anything by Noah Kahan.

For our favorite release this week, Dua Lipa released “These Walls” featuring the Belgian pop singer Pierre de Madre. It’s actually a pretty neat addition to the song’s former arrangement, and their harmonizing just does the job in every aspect necessary. Pierre’s humming grazes all the best parts of our listening. We’d love to hear them together again sometime.

Until next week, or better yet, la semaine prochaine
