JISOO Signs Solo Deal With Warner Records

Jisoo, of the globally renowned K-pop group Blackpink, has officially launched her solo career, signing a global label deal with Warner Records. The announcement precedes the February 14th release of her debut solo mini-album, "Amortage."
"I’m excited about this new era and the continuation of my musical journey," Jisoo stated, thanking her fans, BLINKs, for their support. "This is just the beginning and I’m thrilled to kick off this seismic moment with Warner Records.”
Jisoo is the final Blackpink member to secure a solo label deal outside of group activities. Following Blackpink's 2023 departure from YG Entertainment, the members declined to renew individual contracts for solo work, though the group continues to operate together.
Warner Records CEO Aaron Bay-Schuck expressed excitement about the partnership. "There is no question that Jisoo is one of the biggest stars in the world, and we have no doubt that her solo career will be even more impactful," he said. "Her music transcends cultures and…we are thrilled to join forces with Jisoo as she continues to make history and inspire millions around the world.” The collaboration signals a promising new chapter for Jisoo.
New Music Friday

It’s never easy falling in love again — the Weekend claims on new song “Open Hearts” from his also-new album Hurry Up Tomorrow.
Hurry Up Tomorrow completes the esteemed After Hours trilogy. Hidden throughout the track-list you’ll find Travis Scott, Future, Florence + The Machine, Anitta, Playboi Carti and Lana Del Rey. These cameos aren’t credited in the song titles, and it would be unfair to reveal where to look exactly. It’s really important you find them yourselves — so you listen all the way through and hear the miraculous transitions The Weeknd has put together here. “All I have is my legacy,” he sings on the record’s first track “Wake Me Up” which appears to rework Michael Jackson’s mega-hit “Thriller.” This one lyric alone really lays the groundwork for the album, as Hurry Up Tomorrow forever confirms The Weeknd’s long-lasting print in the industry. We’re giving him our favorite release this week for “The Abyss” a song which also features the excellent Lana Del Rey.
JENNIE and Dominic Fike sing together on “Love Hangover” which contains a pretty infectious chorus, and a really fun outro. “Oh sh*t / I did it again,” JENNIE says.
Imagine Dragons released “Monica.” The song is a demo from their original Smoke + Mirrors album which apparently is getting a Taylor Swiftesque “From The Vault” release. They’re calling it Reflections, cleverly noted, and it comes out February 21st.
Morgan Wallen’s latest single “I’m The Problem” is good. His new album, though still in progress according to the singer’s Instagram, retains the same name. Should be interesting.
Djo’s released “Basic Being Basic” off his upcoming album The Crux. This song really has an amazing post-chorus in the end. You’ll hit that play back button almost instantly.
