Meghan Markle Returns to Instagram with Harry-Filmed Video

The Duchess of Sussex made an unexpected return to Instagram on New Year’s Day, signalling a change after a long hiatus. In a charming video filmed by Prince Harry on a quiet beach near their Montecito home, Meghan runs joyfully toward the waves and writes “2025” in the sand, embodying a spirit of new beginnings.
While comments on the post are disabled, it has already attracted considerable attention, including endorsements from celebrities like Serena Williams and Chrissy Teigen. The Instagram handle, @meghan, created in 2022, boasted over 113,000 followers even before Meghan’s post. The surprise move has fueled speculation about what the new year holds for Meghan Markle and her family.
Meghan Markle's Instagram return comes at a pivotal moment, signalling a renewed focus on her personal and professional endeavors after a year of relative quiet.
Her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, launched on Instagram in March 2024 with much fanfare. However, the brand, which faced trademark challenges, has yet to launch its product line officially. The account, featuring the bio "By Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex. Established 2024," and showcasing the brand's logo, has remained relatively dormant since its initial launch.

The Golden Globes recognize achievements across film and TV, with categories for cinematic and box office achievement in film and best performance in stand-up comedy on television, which were introduced last year and are set to return this year.
Going into the ceremony, Emilia Pérez leads the nominations with 10 nods, more than any other title in film or on TV. The film's 10 nominations break the record previously held by a comedy or musical motion picture, surpassing Barbie, which scored a total of nine noms last year. The Bear leads the TV nominees with five total mentions, followed by Only Murders in the Building and Shogun with four each.
Rihanna Unleashes Classic Clapback on Fan Demanding New Music

On New Year’s Eve, the ever-charismatic Rihanna showcased her trademark sharp wit once again, reclaiming her title as the queen of clapbacks. The pop icon posted a video of herself enjoying the New Year’s festivities, joking that she’d been ‘sober all year’ when the clock struck midnight when an unexpected encounter unfolded in her comment section. A fan named Lorenzo boldly called out to her with a rather audacious request for “an album, forehead”, a cheeky jab presumably referring to her looks.
Rihanna, renowned for her fierce no-nonsense attitude, didn’t miss a beat. With a mix of humor and authority, she swiftly silenced the fan’s request with a burn both memorable and iconic: “Listen, Lorenzo! You ain’t cute enough to be calling me by my black name, you dizzy f*ck!”
The exchange quickly went viral on social media, reigniting memories of Rihanna’s legendary Twitter presence and her knack for silencing critics in style, all while entertaining her fans with unmistakable flair.
New Music Friday

There really wasn’t much to ring in the new year.
Morgan Wallen released his new song “Smile” which sounds pretty solemn altogether. It’s actually a pretty decent song. “It was good to see you smile / Even if it’s for the picture,” he sings.
Griff remixed “last night’s mascara” with Kito, making a fun rendering of the song.
FKA Twigs also remixed “Eusexua” with Anyma. That album release is getting closer with just twenty more days to go.
Celeste put out a new song called “Everyday” that begins with these sort of wintry sounding vocals. It has a moody dance floor feel to it, and there’s a nice production break near the very end. We’ll give her our favorite release this week.
Hopefully the coming weeks ahead are busier.
