NewJeans' Hanni Faces Potential Deportation Over Alleged Work Visa Expiration

ADOR recently released a statement regarding NewJeans' Hanni's work visa expiration, stating:
"Our exclusive contract with NewJeans is still valid, so we are preparing the documents for the visa extension accordingly."

Hanni, who holds Australian and Vietnamese citizenship but not Korean citizenship, has an Arts and Entertainment (E-6) visa tied to her agency. According to legal experts, NewJeans' contract termination press conference may have invalidated her visa. To stay in South Korea, she must apply for a status change or a new employment contract within 15 days, or she risks deportation.

While Hanni has not responded to her ex-label, ADOR's, claim, it is expected that she is working with lawyers who have likely already resolved the visa issue as she seems unbothered in her recent social media post.

Our Favorite Music From This Week

NCT Mark's rap-heavy track "Fraktsiya," along with Lee Youngji's effortless rap flow, was the highlight of the week. We couldn’t get enough of the artists dissing SM (cough). The only downside? It ended way too quickly.

HyunJin's "Thank You" delivered nostalgic vibes and clear vocals that went straight from our eardrums to our hearts.

FAVE1's Christmas special track "Christmas Kiss" brought a smile to our faces, perhaps it was the Christmas spirit, or maybe it was the members' melodious vocals, but definitely the latter.

Lastly, AIMERS' "Confetti," a winter special song, was the perfect mellow and melodious track to make the colder weather feel warm and cozy.
