Rising star Ruaridh Mollica has been confirmed to play Thomas Shepherd, better known to comic book fans as Speed and the twin brother of Billy Maximoff.
He will make his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in the highly anticipated VisionQuest, which will be the final installment of the trilogy that began with WandaVision and continued in Agatha All Along.
The announcement came during the Marvel Animation and Marvel Television panel at this year’s New York Comic Con, where Vision himself, Paul Bettany, joined the stage to offer insight into where the story picks up after the emotional conclusion of WandaVision.
“What’s different about Vision right now,” Bettany shared, “is that Red Vision gave Vision all of his memories, including the memories from within the Hex. But White Vision is having real difficulty connecting to them. So he has the memories, but he doesn’t have the emotions and the feelings, and I think that’s what the journey is.”
As for what fans can expect from the series’ tone, Marvel Television head Brad Winderbaum stayed tight-lipped. When asked whether VisionQuest would experiment with genres like WandaVision did with sitcoms, he simply smiled and said, “The less we say, the better.”
