Taylor Swift Releases ‘The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore’

Taylor Swift has extended The Life of a Showgirl era with the release of The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore, adding four brand-new tracks to the album’s lineup. Led by the new single "Patient Zero," the expanded release also introduces "Cleveland!," "Pink Clouding," and "Babylon," all born out of a celebratory trip to Sweden where Swift reunited in the studio with longtime hitmakers Max Martin and Shellback. To tease the rollout, Swift shared a cinematic preview for the self-directed "Patient Zero" music video, featuring co-stars Colin Farrell and Dakota Johnson alongside moody cinematography by Oscar-winner Emmanuel Lubezki. Fans won't get to see the full visual until it officially premieres this Sunday during the MTV VMAs.

The mini-EP expansion serves as the latest iteration of her 2025 blockbuster album, following previous variant drops like the So Glamorous Cabaret and So Punk on the Internet editions. The fresh material arrives during an exceptionally decorated period for Taylor, who has recently been inducted into both the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the National Recording Registry, alongside contributing "I Knew It, I Knew You" to the Toy Story 5 soundtrack. She is set to cap off the week at Sunday's VMAs, where she will receive the inaugural "Artist Director Honors" celebrating her visual storytelling and behind-the-camera work.

Macklemore Announces 'Free Palestine' Tour

Just days after being pulled from Ed Sheeran’s Loop tour over his on-stage political statements, Macklemore is turning his sudden schedule opening into a headlining run of his own. The Seattle rapper, real name Benjamin Haggerty, announced on Thursday that he will launch an international "Free Palestine" tour starting next month in Dublin before hitting Paris and London, with US dates expected to follow. All proceeds from the tour will go directly to organizations supporting the Palestinian people and humanitarian relief, capitalizing on what the rapper called a "moment of momentum."

Addressing the industry fallout that left his autumn open, Macklemore framed the new tour as a response to corporate silencing and artist censorship. "What happened to me is bigger than one artist or one stage," he shared in a statement, calling out "the power of billionaires that try to censor" political expression in live music. After spending the past week reaching out to fellow artists who have spoken up for Palestinian liberation, Macklemore noted that while some tour logistics are still being finalized due to the quick turnaround, he remains focused on using his platform: "So, as you all know, my schedule freed up a bit... but there is work to be done."

Ryan Murphy Completes 'Glee' Reboot Script as Original Cast Eyes McKinley High Return

Glee could soon be making its long-awaited return to the spotlight, as creator Ryan Murphy revealed he has officially finished writing a reboot script alongside original co-creators Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan. Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Murphy shared that he has already been in touch with around ten original cast members who are "very enthusiastic" about revisiting the beloved musical comedy, which originally ran on Fox from 2009 to 2015.

While the 20th Television project hasn't landed at a network or streaming platform just yet, momentum is building quickly following a resurgence of interest from a new generation of fans. Murphy noted that while nobody has read the script yet, he wanted to write a few episodes first to gauge reactions from the cast. If the former New Directions sign on, viewers may soon be headed back to the hallways of McKinley High.

NAZA, the devastating new Guardian-produced documentary from Oscar-winning Israeli filmmakers Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor (No Other Land), is heading to theaters in over 50 countries before a free worldwide digital release on theguardian.com this November.
