VMA's Nominees Revealed, Olivia Rodrigo Teases Album 3, Lady Gaga's 'Wednesday' Single

VMA’s Nominees Revealed

The nominations for the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards were announced today, with Lady Gaga leading the pack with 12 nominations, followed closely by Bruno Mars with 11 and Kendrick Lamar with 10. Other top nominees include Rosé and Sabrina Carpenter, each with eight nods, while Ariana Grande and The Weeknd received seven. Billie Eilish earned six nominations, and Charli XCX secured five.
This year's ceremony will be held at the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York, and will introduce two new categories: Best Country and Best Pop Artist. The awards show will be broadcast live on CBS and MTV on September 7, 2025, at 8 p.m. ET, and will also stream on Paramount+.
Fans were surprised to see that Addison Rae was not nominated in any category, following the success of her debut album, ADDISON, and the viral track ‘Diet Pepsi.’
Olivia Rodrigo Teases New Album as GUTS Tour Concludes
In a vibrant finale to her GUTS World Tour, Olivia Rodrigo dropped hints about her highly anticipated third album during her performance at the 2025 Osheaga Festival in Montreal. The Grammy-winning artist delivered an unforgettable show, blending her hit songs with heartfelt ballads while connecting intimately with the crowd. She also surprised select fans by handing out her special ‘GUTS’ rings as a way of saying goodbye to the campaign.
The highlight of the evening occurred during her encore when Rodrigo returned to the stage wearing a striking red T-shirt that prominently featured a sparkling number "3." This reveal contributes to a series of T-shirts adorned with phrases that fans believe are lyrics and clues related to the themes of her upcoming album.

Lady Gaga’s ‘Wednesday’ Single

Lady Gaga's involvement in the second season of Wednesday will extend beyond her acting role to include a brand-new song, Billboard has confirmed. The new track, titled "Dead Dance," is expected to be released next month, coinciding with her guest appearance on the show.
According to Variety, the song was produced by Andrew Watt and Cirkut, who also worked on Gaga's most recent album, Mayhem. A music video for the single is also slated for release in September. While Gaga was recently recording with Wednesday director Tim Burton at the Island of the Dolls in Mexico, it is unconfirmed whether this visit is connected to the new song or its video.

Chappell’s Second Album ‘Not Ready Yet’

Chappell Roan has announced that her highly anticipated second album is not close to completion, two years after her debut LP, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess. In a new interview with Vogue, Roan revealed that the project "doesn’t exist yet" and that it will likely take at least another five years to write, just as her first album did.
Roan addressed fan frustrations directly, explaining that she has to work at her own pace and cannot simply "pump it out." She emphasized that even if she were in the studio constantly, it wouldn't speed up the process, as she doesn't believe she makes good music when she forces herself.
